Bill Warren Obituary

A very close personal friend, confidant, mentor passed away April 18, 2025, at the age of 96. Willard Lee (Bill) Warren, an admired / venerable figure in his community and certainly in the lighting industry, his lifetime profession.  I was one of the very lucky ones who worked with Bill over the years.  We made many presentations together at industry events… he was the technical / intellectual and I was the marketing / academic.  He was an engineer through and through, and my job was to keep telling him that you stick with the facts and I’ll do the selling job. He never listened… ….. He called me the Other Bill, unless I went first, then I called him the Other Bill.  It was a blast every time.  Bill led by example and his loss will be felt by his many friends and all of those who met him over an accomplished lifetime.

Bill was born and raised in Brownsville, Brooklyn, and married the love of his life, Claudette (née Stolper) in 1953. Claudette and Bill began their life in Queens, NY, moving to Carle Place, Dobbs Ferry, South Nyack, and finally Roosevelt Island, New York, expanding their family to include four devoted children.  With his legendary sense of humor in place until the very end, Bill’s last wish was for a bowl of chocolate ice cream. God bless you Other Bill and your wonderful family.
